Small group photography workshop
A full-day workshop to build solid photographic foundations in a small group.
This workshop is designed as a complete introduction to photography. It is ideal for people with little or some experience who want to understand the fundamentals, practice with guidance, and build a solid base to continue developing their photography.
Who this workshop is for
This workshop is well suited if you are looking for a structured learning experience shared with others.
You want to understand the key foundations of photography in a clear and coherent way.
You enjoy learning in a small group, sharing questions and observations.
You value guided practice but also benefit from seeing how others approach the same situations.
You are looking for a serious learning experience in a relaxed and social environment.
How the workshop is prepared and conducted
The workshop follows a clear structure designed to cover the most important aspects needed to move forward in photography.
Unlike one-to-one formats, the contents here are more defined, ensuring that all participants work through the same essential concepts. At the same time, the small group size allows for flexibility, questions, and individual guidance when needed.
The process is based on active practice. Participants photograph, observe results, make adjustments, and discuss what works and what doesn’t. Working alongside others enriches the process, offering different perspectives and shared learning moments.
The dynamic is active and engaging, combining focused work with moments of interaction and exchange.
Location and working environment
The workshop takes place outdoors, in real and easily accessible environments.
Work usually begins in a calm public space, such as a park or natural area within the city. These environments provide the right conditions to start observing, practicing, and understanding the basics without unnecessary distractions.
Around midday, the group takes a break for lunch. This pause offers time to rest, clarify doubts in a more informal way, and socialize with other participants. Lunch is not included in the price.
As the day progresses, the group may move to a more urban setting nearby. This change of environment introduces new visual situations and helps maintain a dynamic rhythm throughout the day.
What is typically worked on
The workshop covers a broad range of essential concepts, including:
Learning to look at a subject from different perspectives and move beyond the first observation.
Core principles of composition to structure images and direct attention.
Learning to recognise different types of light and how to make better use of them.
Understanding exposure and how to control it manually.
Using exposure creatively to control what appears sharp or blurred in an image.
Learning when and why to use different lenses, such as wide-angle or telephoto.
Introduction to long exposure, when relevant, to explore movement and time.
A light introduction to editing as a way of selecting and reinforcing intention, not as software training.
The content is designed to provide a solid and coherent foundation, shared by all participants.
Participants often find that seeing how others approach the same situation accelerates their own understanding.
