What Pentaprisma is
Pentaprisma is a practical, guided learning experience focused on core concepts, real situations, and direct feedback.
Workshops take place outdoors, in real environments. There are no closed classrooms and no long theoretical explanations. You work with the camera in your hands from the very beginning.
Instead of starting with theory and then applying it, learning happens the other way around. You begin by photographing freely, and from the images that appear, we start working.
You see how small changes affect the result. An image that initially feels weak or unclear is gradually refined, step by step, until it becomes stronger and more intentional. What changes is not only the photograph, but your understanding of why it works.
If a photograph feels flat, we talk about depth. If it lacks structure, we introduce composition and the role of lines. Concepts are introduced only when they are needed, always connected to a real image you have just taken.
Special care is taken with the rhythm of each session. Visually rewarding topics are alternated with more technical concepts, so learning never feels heavy or abstract.
The focus is on developing confidence and the ability to make conscious decisions when photographing.

Who leads the workshops in Barcelona
Workshops in Barcelona are led by Vitor Schietti, a Pentaprisma instructor with extensive experience teaching photography basics that matter in real, urban environments.
His way of teaching is closely connected to how photography is practiced in Barcelona, and to the rhythm the city allows when working in the street.

Workshops are conducted in English. Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are also available for one-to-one sessions if preferred.

Any camera you normally use is fine, including mirrorless or DSLR. You can also work with a compact camera. A fully charged battery is recommended.

No formal training is required. Workshops are designed for beginners and enthusiasts who want to strengthen their foundations.
